Before I start talking about my skin and the products that I use, I just want to let you know that these products may and/or may not work for your specific skin type and needs. So talk to a dermatologist or do some research to make sure that you are using the right products for your skin.

Now that that is out of the way, let's get started! I have oily combination skin and at times it is very sensitive. So, I am not able to use certain types of masks, particularly sheet masks, and any type of makeup remover wipes. I guess this will kind of clear up why the first step in my routine(s) is to actually just wash my face with my cleanser. Now for a little backstory: since high school, I have had acne and still have a little to this day. I've tried using Proactive, Neutrogena and other lines that carried acne products but unfortunately I stopped seeing results after a few months. That's when I turned to YouTube and other social media to see what other people had been using to "cure" their acne. I tried so many different products because it had worked for them but it only resulted in my skin reacting badly and causing my acne to get worse. I would go to the spa and get facial treatments but it seemed like it didn't help much or at all. I was then able to find a brand called NuSkin and decided to try out their acne skincare line and used it for about two years. Their products did wonders for me! My acne started to go away and the big, painful pimples were gone. I absolutely loved it! Now that my skin had cleared up a little, I started to look for products that would nourish my skin yet at the same time still treat the little acne that I had left. There was still some trial and error but I think the products shown above have helped me to get my skin to where it is today. I still break out before I get my period, but my skin is in the best shape that it's ever been.

Now going into my daily routine, there are some products that I only use two to three times a week and that would be the exfoliating pads, the face mask, the tea tree oil and the sleeping night oil. The reason for that is well, (1) you don't want to strip the skin off your face everyday and (2) since I have oily combo skin, I don't want to put a lot of oil-based products on every night. Other than that, here is a break down of what my routine looks like.

*In the morning, I like to keep things simple especially because I don't like to have that heavy feeling on my skin. Same goes for makeup; I always try to find a foundation/bb cream that is light weight.

1. Cleanse with the Arcona Raspberry Clarifying Bar
2. Tone with the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
3. Apply the Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment Serum
4. Moisturize with the Kiehl's 'Clearly Corrective' Hydrating Moisture Emulsion
5. Finish off with the Murad Oil Mattifier

NIGHT (1):

*This is my everyday night time routine. The one on the right is the routine I do about two to three times a week.

If you were to ask me what three products helped my skin the most, they would be: (1) the Arcona Raspberry Clarifying Bar, (2) Kiehl's 'Clearly Corrective' Dark Spot Solution, and (3) the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.

After I started using the clarifying bar, I did notice a big difference in my skin. A lot of my acne has cleared up from using this product and it hasn't left my face feeling dry or tight. What I love about it is that it has salicylic acid in the bar which helps to clear comedomes and prevent new ones. At the same time, the raspberry extract reduces inflammation and calms irritated skin. So this has my stamp of approval. As for the Kiehl's serum, I've been using this product for about three years and I can't live without it. Because I used to pick at my acne a lot, I was left with a lot of scars and this has helped me to get rid of (most of) them. Finally, the SK-II essence is a product I have come to love as of recently. The first time that I ever tried it, I disliked it because of the scent and how it would give me this burning feeling when I applied it to my face. I'm not too sure if maybe I had gotten a bad bottle, but the one I got in Korea was different. It didn't have much of a scent to it and there was no burning feeling like the one I had tried a year ago. Overall, this product has helped the appearance of my skin look better.

If you're looking into trying something new, I highly recommend the three items I just mentioned. Again, it's important to research or talk to someone to make sure that the products you're using now or ones you want to try are a good fit for your skin and needs.

Phew! Now that this long post is done, I hope everyone has a great Monday! Be sure to check back for posts on my trip to Korea! xo
